I spent a full year doing intuitive painting…now, to have criteria for one is somewhat of a shift for me. Some forethought for composition…hmmm…I’ll think about that later…which I didn’t. Starting this painting without any idea of what I’d paint except the predetermined criteria found me in and out of feeling as though I would have liked more direction and into glad I didn’t have more pre-intended ideas. It will be interesting to discover what leads me to go into more preparatory work than not.
